Dalia or bulgur is quite popular in India and is usually given to kids in the form of porridge. But adults shouldn’t miss out on this healthy ingredient as it is high in fibre, low in fat, diabetic-friendly and also suitable for people who want to lose weight. But instead of eating plain porridge, here, we make it into a salad which adds more nutrition to it and makes it healthier. Here’s the recipe.
Ingredients
- 30g dalia or bulgur
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves, chopped
- ½ onion, chopped
- 1 small tomato chopped
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper powder
- Pinch of cinnamon powder
Method
1. Pressure cook the dalia in 2 cups water.
2. In a bowl, add chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, chopped coriander, chopped mint, olive oil, lemon juice, pepper powder and cinnamon powder and mix.
3. Add dalia and mix. Serve immediately.
